Comprehensive Eye Care
You can think of your optometrist at Blacksburg Eye Associates as the “primary care provider” for your eyes. Primary eye care includes a comprehensive examination of the visual system and ocular health. Our examination is designed to detect many diseases and disorders of the visual system, including signs of related systemic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia / high cholesterol to name a few.
The American Academy of Optometry and The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends regular comprehensive examinations every one to two years, or more often when indicated. Click here for more information from the AOA regarding eye examinations and ‘people at risk’ who may need more frequent examination.
