contact lenses Make Blacksburg Eye Associates your source for contact lens expertise. We carry many of the most popular brands of contacts that can enhance your vision, comfort, and wear time.

Our doctors pride themselves on their contact lens experience and truly believe there is a contact lens for just about anyone out there–although sometimes it may take a little extra work. We do not shy away from a challenge, and will do everything we can to get each patient the best lens options possible. We will work hard to solve your contact lens problems, whether it’s just a young athlete needing contact lenses instead of glasses, or someone with problems such as dry eyes, allergy eyes, or bifocals.

Can I wear contact lenses?
Yes! Ok, well, probably. More than 4 out of 5 people who wear glasses can also wear contact lenses.

What about putting something in my eye?
It is very natural to have hesitation about putting in a contact lens. You spend your whole life keeping things out of your eyes, it is expected to have concern about putting something in your eye. Our staff will teach you how to handle your contact lenses in a safe and efficient manner. We will teach you how to insert, remove, clean and store the lenses, in addition to educating you about (and giving samples of) the proper solutions and eye drops for your specific contact lens.

Which lens is right for me?
There are a multitude of options for contact lenses for the average patient. The most commonly prescribed are soft disposable contact lenses. We also offer custom contact lens services, including scleral lenses and orthokeratology. Our doctors will help you determine what is best by balancing comfort, health, vision, and cost. The most common soft contact lenses range from daily disposable to monthly disposable. Astigmatism is not a deal-breaker, nor is the need for bifocals. Dry eye? Got it covered. Allergies? Check.

Sounds good, how much do contact lenses cost?
Blacksburg Eye Associates provides a wide range of contact lenses and contact lens services. Prices for contact lenses and related services (fitting/training/follow ups) can vary depending on the type of contact lenses needed and any applicable vision insurance you may have.
