While our Blacksburg facilities are new, our team has been providing care focused on helping patients reach their visual potential for over a decade. This includes patients struggling in school, concussion rehabilitation, and sports vision enhancement.

Vision Plus is the only facility that is solely dedicated to neuro-optometric vision development and rehabilitation in the area. Located in Blacksburg, we serve Blacksburg, the New River Valley, Roanoke, and have patients traveling more than 3 hours for our unique services.

Independent & Local
We are an independent small business, locally owned and operated. Our founder, Dr. John Dovie, optometrist, is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech (’99, Biology), and has been practicing in southwest Virginia since 2005. We are proud to be part of this wonderful Blacksburg community and strive to serve it well.

Vision Plus Development and Rehab is dedicated to providing the best experience, and this includes equipment and technology. Our facilities house some of the most advanced technology for vision development and training available, including Senaptec Sensory Station, RightEye, Fit Lights, and more. To get better you need to up your game, and we can help.

We will work closely with your team of providers to ensure that you have the best outcome. We happily work with physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, primary care, neurology, sports medicine, functional neurology, educational psychology, behavioral health, and more.

Blacksburg Eye Associates is a large, technology-heavy, medically-minding practice that grew by word of mouth and developing relationships with our patients. We care about your eye health and provide vision care to your whole family as if they were our very own.
We are also the only eye care clinic in the area with a doctor residency-trained in corneal disease, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses. Patients from Blacksburg, Radford, Christiansburg & New River Valley are welcome!
